hi

is there anyone with a pen ft who has trouble loading their camera ?
my take up reel is a little finicky and it doesn't like being loaded sometimes ..
it is driving me crazy.
is this a known issue with this camera ??

the way i load it is feed a bit of the tongue into the slot,
the the cassette into its spot.
i close it and it usually "winds" onto the takeup
but sometimes it doesn't want to .. and i wind and wind and wind
and it doesn't load

thanks in advance !

I'm presuming you take up the slack in the film and the tongue stays in the TU reel.
Does the rewind button pop out like it should? If it doesn't pop out You're not actually winding the film. If it is sticking, It may be just a little dirt around the button(inside).

but when there is tension against it it stops.

i will check the button ...

when you load that film tongue in to the slot, turn the film winder at least half way, could be that the springs in the take in spool do not grip as good because of the age.

thanks vedmak ...

last night for a good while i
fiddled with the camera to load it.
what it looks like is going on is
the camera loads fine, and the film
actually goes around and around and around
the take up spool, but as soon as i close the back
there is too much tension on the film
and the spool doesn't want to wind anymore.
not sure what they call that --- clutch problems ?
in anycase i will probably take / send it to a repair person ...
