PCS 130 will not cover 6x7?

I just tried doing a 6x7 from my new-to-me Mamiya and for the life of me I could not get good light coverage of the entire frame, especially on the long ends.

I did remove the 35mm condensor (bottom) but checking the easel with no negative clearly shows a very vignetted light.

I left in the top condensor and in fact tried every variable of condensor (35mm only, 120 only, both, none...) and nothing worked. I believe the top condensor was labled 6x6 but I honestly didn't even see it covering that much evenly.

I tried two different 105mm lenses from between f/5.6 up to f/16 and saw no siginificant difference in the vignette; it's clearly the light source. The same lens works fine on my DII with a cold head.

Any suggestions? I would much rather use this enlarger, even for B&W over my DII. With the 150 control it makes contrast adjustments a snap!

There is a set of condensers for 6x7. Oddly, the default configuration is for 6x6, so the 6x7 condenser set is is an accessory, and if you don't have it, you can't do 6x7. I had all the available condenser lenses, and as I recall there were four or five lenses that could be used in different configurations for 35mm, 6x6, and 6x7.

For 6x7 on the PCS 130 you need the F135 condenser on the bottom and the F160 on the top. Neither of these condensers was supplied as standard with the enlarger, but were separately available accessories. However, I think some versions of the enlarger in the US may have been shipped with the set David Goldfarb mentions. Mine has the F91 and F145 condensers.

Most likely you have the stock F91 and F145 condensers, which will only get you 35mm and smaller format coverage.

I already put it away and finished what I was doing with the DII, but IIRC it was F135 and F120, but I could be wrong. My friend that I purchased it from used it for 35mm and 645.

There is no mention of an F120 condenser in the Philips Darkroom Book I have, Peter Charpentier, 1983, Focus, Amsterdam/Brussels.

You need a 6x7 condenser set. There is one on ebay for sale. See link. Hope it gets you there.
