I did some google search but did not find any definitive answer in APUG or elsewhere, but has anyone used the PCB UV printer for alternative processing? They are less than 1/2 price of units from B&S and Freestyle.

I have asked my electronic friend, and it sounds like it ought to work: the light comes from the bottom, you put the PCB and additional backing on top of the glass, and the upper lid comes down and interlocked. The top lid has foam so it should hold everything tight. PCB is normally ~2mm but thinner materials like the watercolor paper and negative sandwich should be fine.

Any opinions or experience? Thanks

My PCB UV light source works fine for cyanotype and carbon; the UV coatings on most PCBs do seem to be sensitive at similar wavelengths to common printing processes. I also have a UV tube which was used for erasing EPROMS, but that is a much shorter wavelength and does not work so well.

Yes I confirm. I've gotten in the past an used old print UV lichtbox. About A3 format. I use it for Cyanotype. Times 3 to 5 minutes.
Replaced later the tubes, because they only flicker and did not want to go to on.

I also rebuild today an old Lumoprint box for A4. Original there where 4 small E14 15 Watt bulbs. I replaced inside with UV facial tanner found on the flea market.
The Lumoprint is great build. I think it's from the 50's but could be older.

Leigh at B&S said they have no direct experience but think that they ought to work. I am planning to use it with Pt/Pd.

Thanks all!
