I like the idea behind the Mitchell duo-cube or similar filter matrix for
determining color filtration for color prints, and was using my
Colorstar 3000 in densitometer mode to measure the filters
so I could then dial in my enlarger filters after calibrating them
against the colorstar. The problem is that the duo-cube measurements
don't correspond to the stated values. The Cyan is pretty good but
M and Y are off or faded quite a bit. Then I bought a set of color
filters for enlargers with filter drawers, and those correlate pretty
well for Y, but are off on the Cyan. Now I'm not sure what to
believe. I'm not sure how much acetate filters fade over time or
how good the colorstar is. I have some Ilford mulitgrade filters and
measured those and found the 4 and 4.5 were obviously mislabeled or flawed.
I also have some Kodak PolyContrast filters and those seemed to
be promising as standards, so my question is: can someone post the
density measurements for Kodak PC filters?
