PC-contact cover

my D800 comes with a nice rubber cover to protect the PC contact;my older FMs and FEs are missing such a cover.my google searches only discovered little covers to cover up phone or tablet cameras. Does anybody know a source for these PC contact covers to protect them from oxidation and dirt?
 
Can't you get two more of those D800 covers as a spare part from a Nikon dealer, or an online spare party seller? They should fit any PC port, after all. Unless Nikon made a thread into the housing above the actual port, so that the cover would be specific to the camera.

I guess I should try and see if the one on my Olympus em5 fits my film cameras...

Call Nikon they may be able to help. Currently the Df uses the same type of cover. Back in 2004 I called Nikon and they sent me a couple of them free. Later they said they don't have any more but now there is the Df I hope they have some new ones now.
 

That's if they even turn up !
I bought those of that seller you linked to , a few days later they cancelled my order and gave a refund with no explanation or contact or anything .
Crap service however you look at it , even if they were out of stock a simple email stating this would be just polite .
The item was still listed as available to buy though .
They got negative feedback for that one .

Better look at another seller .

Good point!

I always look for the seller with a good seller rating selling the same item, even if it does cost a little more for the better service.
