Hi gang

I'e decided it's time to sort though my gear and sell a few things I'm either not using, or have other gear that can do the same job.

First thing to go is my Patterson Orbital Processor.

I bought this when I started shooting 5x7, but I discovered it was a "phase" I was going through. I still shoot large format, but limit myself to mostly 5x4, and I've got 2 Jobo 5x4 tanks that I can use to process film in. And if I shoot anything larger I have Jobo paper drums I can use.

This tank works brilliantly for processing film. I did some reading on the web and removed the 2 "arm" on the lid of the tank to create a more even movement of the chemistry, and I scored the base of the tank to prevent the film from sticking (you could do a neater job if you wanted to, or could use some silicone or glue to create raised "ribs", but I never had any problems with film scratching)

I made 2 new divider posts from a knitting needle, and these worked great to keep the 5x7 sheets of film in their halves of the tank. If you were to process 5x4 film in the tank you could either make another 2 longer pins, or use the original red pins that were used to hold prints in to place - the tank comes with 4 original prints.

The motor base works well, and takes all the effort out of film processing. The motor base is designed to run on 240 Volts, so if you live in a part of the world that runs on 110 Volts you will need a transformer (or it may work but much more slowly???)

The tank uses very little chemistry. I used to use around 200ml of chemistry for each solution. I also processed film like I do in my Jobo - 3-4 minute pre-wash in water, then dev & fix as normal. I'd then do 3 X 1 minute washes, followed by a 10 minute wash in a archival washer. My negs will last forever

I've seen these sell for silly prices on ebay. I'd like $150 US plus postage for this one. Payment can be made by Paypal (or direct deposit in Australia)

When it sells I'll also make a donation to APUG
