Paterson Tank (Mod54)

I bought one of those Mod54 things so I could develop color sheets in a Paterson tank. The spot where the "claw" holds the film is leaving marks because that part doesn't get developed. Is there a workaround for this?

When I first started using one I got some small scratches and sheets would jump out of place because of too aggressive agitation. But I've never had trouble with uneven processing. What film and chemistry are you using and how are you agitating?

I used HP5+ with HC110 and agitated like I do with roll film, only much slower to try and keep the film in place. It was still in place when I removed it, but the spot where the red claw was holding it was not developed because it was basically covered by the claw. The film developed fine, otherwise. Here is a pic:

If the emulsion side of the film is touching the “claw” then development could be impacted, but that would happen if the film is loaded with the emulsion facing away from the central core.

The film should be loaded with the emulsion facing the central core.
Is there any chance that the film was loaded with the emulsion facing away from the core?
