It's not a Paterson tank. It looks like a tank marketed by Kaiser and also sold as made by AP.
I have both Paterson tanks and AP tanks. The Paterson ones don't leak too badly if "burped" but I still work over a sink. I don't like my AP tanks very much. The red top is difficult to take off.
If there is liquid around the rim with the AP tank it will leak that liquid when you invert. The fact that it leaks when standing suggests you are actually pressurising it rather than letting pressure out! Try it without "pumping" the lid. They also leak more if overfilled.
In my experience tanks might leak if they are improperly stored between sessions. If you don't firmly push the rubber lid into the tank or (even worse) you let the lid dry by itself next to the tank it'll shrink a tiny bit and then leakage will happen.
