Paterson Major print washer

Hello Folks, I'm thinking about buying a new Paterson large print washer. It is listed as being able to accept 12 x 16 inch prints. What I really want to do is wash 16x20 prints, folded over. I don't want to by a 16x20 print washer, maybe from Versalab, because the washer is too big, and it's too heavy when filled with water. I searched this forum, and there was some earlier discussion (maybe 2012?) about how the Paterson print washer won't even wash 12x16 prints. The washer was too short, and prints had to be cut.

Does anybody know if this issue has been resolved? And does anybody have any opinions about folding over a 16x20 print and attempting to wash in that washer?

the Patterson washer won't actually wash 12/16 paper, it is a fraction too short still, as far as washing a 16/20 print folded to fit you risk creasing and damaging the paper, especialy FB paper, until dry it can be delicate and easily damaged when wet, maybe you could use a developing tray modified by drilling several holes in the bottom the under a slowly running tap the fresh water goes in the top and drains from the bottom, slower, but if you use hypo clear not so bad, I have used such a tray myself and it works well, certainly the prints I washed in it, both FB and RC paper the prints are still as good today as when I made them 20 or more years ago, these days I use a Paterson washer, works a treat for me

For 11x14 I use two stacked strays with the top one overflowing slowly into the bottom tray.
If you have extra trays you can drill drain holes at strategic locations.
Slow water flow with lots of soaking is what you need.
