I just got a used Paterson Auto Print Washer 12 x 16.
I did it fast. The seller just said to me...this hose (connect to a rectangular black column, with a small rectangular cap on top)) is for water comes in. The other hose is missing..so I figure to find one in the scrap for water comes out.
Incoming water connects to the spigot on the right hand side - There is a little valve & rod energised by the water pressure that rocks the frame from side to side.
I think I have a manual for one somewhere - I'll try to find it and post a scan.
P.S. Although it says 12x16 washer, 16" wide sheets don't quite fit in. I need to trim mine down to 15½".

For what it's worth, on mine the valve mechanism that rocks the print rack never worked very well, and made rude noises, so I extracted it and replaced it with a standard plumbing "bulkhead" fitting.
I'm not sure, but if this valve mechanism is used to create an oscillating action to the cradle...and the prints, the washing is more effective. Maybe it's too noisy. I'll see.
Any way, I found the missing parts from Paterson. They should be in mail today.
Keep the water flow low, slowly increase the flow rate till you see the rack rocking, then fine tune. It does not need a lot of water flow.
I do not know how well the Paterson unit works for todays RC papers where the fixer does not soak into the paper like it does with fiber paper. I think flow and water change rate is more important for RC paper.
NB23, where are you? I would love to scrounge where you are.
