I have here a really nice Minolta MD Rokkor-X 45mm f 2 lens here that is missing the rubber focusing ring. I'm hoping someone here might have one they would be willing to part with, or know of where one could be obtained.
I'm also curious if anyone has any experience with making one. It's a last ditch option but as I'm just planning on using this lens myself, and not ever selling it I'm thinking that a ring could be made. I'm thinking perhaps using that plastic dip stuff for coating tool handles and trying to fill the ring groove to provide a rubber grip. Anyone ever tried something like this?

You can ask John Tittetington. He repairs Minolta and may have something for you. Nice guy !

You should be able to find one of these lenses in good condition for less than $10 on ebay,if the lens isn't in better condition than your own take the grip-if it is use the new one.

Thank you Hilo, I just send a email off to John, hopefully he can help.

Wow, your right, they seem to be cheap as chips as they say. I already sent an email off to John Tittetington so I'll wait and see what he says but damn...I hadn't noticed just how low some of these Minolta lenses had gone.

Yeah,it's a shame for anyone selling-but patience rewards the buyer these days.
