My Paramender was pretty cheap because the lever was broken. I did investigate having a replacement 3-D printed but that turned out to be more effort than I was prepared to expend.

Flushed with success at my previous modification of a Manfrotto tripod head using male-threaded adjustable levers [1] I thought I'd try using a female-threaded adjustable lever as a replacement for the Paramender's original.

The original lever is plastic moulded around a knurled brass insert (see attached photo); it is fixed to the Paramender's cog spindle with an expanding pin pressed through a cross-hole.

My replacement lever has an M5 thread which I drilled out to 6mm, and added a 3mm diameter cross-hole. I was able to re-use the original expanding pin.

The only pain was that I had to buy four levers but as they only cost £5.80 I'm not complaining.

I hope this is useful to someone else.

Sig.
