Paper developers and temperature

I have recently switched to Ilford multigrade paper developer after using dektol for many years.

I have noticed that the Ilford product does not appear to be affected by temperature as much as Dektol.

Is this just me or is this correct?

I use Dektol at room temperature - 68 to 70 degrees.
I have never noticed much difference in a few degrees variation. It would likely be most noticeable if it got too cold.

try dektol at 75 degrees (room temp in new mexico)

I use Ilford multigrade paper developer every summer at temperatures up to 27ºC with no problems.

My darkroom with an air conditioner on really hot days, seldom gets lower than 30ºC, the cold water temp is around 23ºC in February.

I use Ilford MGIV RC paper and have no problems at those temperatures.

You can not use all paper developers on a higher temperature but most of them is not a problem.

AM6006 (Amaloco) in fact an equivalent of the Ilford MG paper developer is running at 30 degrees C in an ACP252 (2X 30 seconds, AM6006 and X55 (fix)). At room temperature you need at least 1 minute (RC/PE).
The biggest disadvantage to use chemicals on higher temperature is their evapouration but in a machine or Nova this is not a big issue.

Fortunately with the airco I can cool down to 22 degrees C in summer but this is not Australia. But this summer I could do an 'on the fly C41 development' outside
