Panoramic film processing

I'm buying my partner a Panoramic camera, one of the now funky looking Rusian Horizon's.

Now I don't do any D&P for anyone now, so can we get the images printed at a minilab.

If the minilab tech is knowledgeable, then yes...if not, then no. You'd be better off sending them to a pro lab.

You can get the film processed at a mini-lab, just tell them to not cut it. But..getting the images printed may be difficult. Of course, with various desktop scanners, you could scan your film and make inkjet prints at home.

Photone, you're half there, the film will be processed at a minilab.

There are posters here on APUG who run or work with modern minilab machines, we would just want prints.

While I have the capability to scan film I have no intention of doing this, we just want cheap and cheerful prints.

I'm one of those who runs a minilab. As I said, only if you get a capable technician will they be able to give you prints worth anything. Find someone you trust or send it to a pro lab.

One of the problems with Horizon negatives is the light flare you can get at one end of the neg compared to the other end.

I have had my Horizon 202 since 1994 and done many rolls through it. If you are shooting with either end of the frame looking anywhere near the sun, it is almost certain that you will need hand printing of the negatives.

Maybe you could work on the basis of getting the lab prints as a glorified contact sheet.

I would humbly suggest this is the type of camera which requires quite a bit of thought before, during and after shooting to get the best out of it.
