Hey all,

A new show of my black and white, panoramic images of China is opening December 18th at the Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba in my humble (and cold) burg of Brandon. It runs until February 14th, 2009.

There are 25 photographs, each printed 20 inches wide, from my last two trips to China. A special bonus is that a very good friend of mine, an accomplished oil painter from China, created traditional Chinese couplet poems as titles for each piece...it really adds a unique dimension to the photos and I consider myself pretty lucky to have had his assistance.

The gallery is having an official opening on January 8th, 2009 at 7:30pm -- I hope if anyone can make it out, does so. I'd love to meet any and all fellow APUG'ers.

all the best,
Colin

Wrong part of the country for me to attend Colin but I'd love to see some of your images posted to APUG.
Hope lots of folks make it to your show.

Congratulations!

Love to see it, but driving across the prairies in mid-winter is not my cuppa.

Best of luck

Congratulations Colin. I'm glad all the hard work, time (and money!) has paid off for you. I will be sure to make the trip. It is customers and friends like you that make my job worth while.

All the best with the show,

Andrew

Please call ahead, anyone (especially Andrew and Susan!) and I'll go out of my way to walk through the show with you.

Andrew, your help was absolutely invaluable. This is why we have to support our stores, folks.

Colin - congrats! And I did brave a drive across the Prairies so I'll be able to catch it on my way back to BC (probably towards the end of the month).

Great to hear - keep in mind the gallery is closed from Dec 25th to January 2nd but I have a few copies of each print -- viewable at several local pubs!

Just a reminder to those in the area (or those who will be), the 'official opening' for the show is this Thursday.

Yep, just 2 days to see me in clean clothes and hair neatly combed.

This is my good (and very generous) friend, Weiming Zhao. He is a very accomplished artist and created traditional Chinese poems as titles for each of the 25 pieces in my exhibit.
