For this shot I used a very wide lens, I think the Flektogon 20mm on a Praktica BX20 (or similar), the film is Portra 160.

Any good?

Looks fine except for the lean inwards by both sides of the buildings This appears more pronounced on the left side than the right. It looks the kind of interesting problem that Tim Rudman deals with in his master printer book involving only an enlarger and no digital "tricks"

For photographs like that I use the Hasselblad SWC [which is rectilinearly correct] and make sure the bubble is centered in the level or a WideLux or a LF camera with movements.

Actually I used the very wide lens to have that effect..you can also see that due to the linear grand angle the guys at the left look like giants while the two girls on the right two midgets.

It's the first I experimented with this effect, here there is another example, the Flektogon is the only one lens that I have below 24mm.

impressive WA shot;leaning lines don't bother me a bit; actually, they add to the WA feel!

The lean is not an effect that I particularly like but everyone has different tastes. Having seen pictures in books from several wide angle lenses I always felt that about 24 mm is the widest I'd like to try in terms of widest angle with almost minimal distortion. I have a 28mm and that is fine except for some close ups of groups.

Yes, for all my systems I have a 28mm, in my Nikon list I have the 24mm AI that I don't find particularly different from the 28mm, the jump to the Flektogon 20mm has been noticeable, my humble Praktica system is the most complete and I am quite happy as the BC3 and BX20 while not being "high range" cameras are small and capable, somewhat similar to a poor man's LX.

I want to explore the capabilities of very wide angles (not fisheyes) more.

You may wish to try an 18mm on a 35mm camera if you ever get the chance, there was a rather unexpected difference from 20mm to 18mm, which surprised me around 25 years ago when I picked up my 18mm.

My version is a Sigma and compared directly alongside the Nikkor equivalent, it is slightly softer, but for the price I paid, I've never regretted it.

I recently picked up a 20mm nikkor AF, they are great, no bull!
