Pan+F developer?

Looking for a developer for some Pan+F in 35mm I ordered. Plan on doing landscapes and some portraits, and wanted something finer-grained than my old standby, Tri-X.

I have D76, HC-110, and Rodinal on hand. Will any of these work, or should I get something else (Ilford recommends Ilfotec DD-X, is this a good choice?)?

Ilford-wise, I've found Ilfosol better than DD-X for Pan F+. But my favourite is Tetenal Neofin Blue (4.5 minutes at 20C, standard Ilford agitation every minute) which gives the nicest tonality along with exceptional sharpness and no discernable grain.

I have used DDX with good results, but Rodinal is my personal choice.

I like the look of PanF+ in Rodinal, but I've not used any of the other developers you listed with this film. I also like the look of PanF+ with FX-2 and even FX-1, although those would likely give results that would not work well for portraiture.

All of the devs you've listed will work well with Pan-F, it just depends on how YOU like the look that each dev gives you. The devs you list are all good. Try each one.

I seem to like Rodinal the best, but D-76 (in all dilutions), HC-110 and Microdol-X have all given me fine results.

D76, HC-110, and Rodinal? Jn my experience, any of these developers will work ok with PanF+

My personal preference however, is Rodinal diluted 50:1

Rodinal is the only developer I use with PanF+. The inverse is also true - PanF+ is the only film I develop with Rodinal.

I shot two rolls, one was Pan F and the other Arista 50. I exposed them at 32 cloudy day, and used diafine 72 degrees at 3 1/2 for each bath. Agitation was 5 second at the beginning and 5 sec every minute. The negs look really good and I have printed only a couple, those prints looked really good.

Feeling a little sick so I don't think I will get into the lightroom today. Negs scanned by Minolta Dual scan II and printed on Epson 1280 black only.

I have gotten excellent results with D76/ID-11, Microdol-X/Perceptol and Rodinal. The only thing to be aware of, when shooting Pan F, is that it can build contrast pretty easily. I like increased exposure, dilute developers and reduced development times for that reason.

I have been playing around with Pan-F recently, and really like at EI 32 in Perceptol 1:3; it keeps the contrast under control and due to the high dilution the negatives are very sharp.

Rondinal also works well in semi-stand 1:200 for an hour.

Can't comment about HC-110. Rodinal 1+50 or D-76 1+1 works for me.
