Using an analogy with painting, who would you suggest is the Van Gogh of photography? For me it would be Atget.
 
I'd be more apt to say Robert Frank.

No one will like my stuff till I'm dead. I've already cut me own ear off and I'm feeling a bit insane.
 
Can you describe what characteristics the "Van Gogh of Photography's" pictures would have?
