paint on old camera's

Hello,

This is my first thread here and my question is maybe a bit odd. But i wondered if anyone here would be able to anwer my question.
Yesterday i took a better look to my old Kodak Duaflex i own. I don't know anyhing about industrial manufacturing, certainly not the process of 75 years ago. But i am actually quite curious about the way they got the paint on the camera's. Especially the text on the front of the camera. Is it pressed in some way.
The question is off topic compared to the standard questions, but if anyone knows i would appreciate it.

I do not know that model, but in general there were two ways of doing so:

-) printing a flat piece of zink etc. coated steel with a varnish. The same as sheet-metal toys had been printed. By this one can leave free the lettertypes and give them the metal shine. I assume that was done in your sample

-) Emboss lettertypes into a piece of sheet metal or mold lettertypes in metal, then spray paint and then grind or mill the embossed/molded letters a bit, giving them a metal shine. At molded lettertypes instead of flat milling even structured milling was applied giving the letter faces a sparkle.

Thank you for the answer. Based on your information and the way the camera looks i think your assumption is right.
Normally i don't think about these kind of things, but it is nice to know a bit better how they made it.
