I have a 24 inch LD Artar with no shutter that I would like to use in my Kodak Master 8x10. I have a Packard Shutter which is, I think, a #8, i.e., the one with two pistons. Have any of you ever adapted a Packard shutter to this camera?

Doc,I've not installed a Packard shutter on a Kodak Master but have done it many times on a Deardorff and the only problem to overcome is if the lens board opening is large enough for the shutter to pass through and enough space left on the lens board for the hose connector to pass through after the lens attachment ring is installed. In your case two connectors I guess. One time the shutter being installed was too large to pass through the lens board opening and had to be attached like a lens hood on the outside of the camera. It looked dorkey but functioned OK.
Good luck with your install.

15-20 years ago studio and monorail cameras were common on ebay with a Packard Shutter mounted to the rear of the front standard with the air bulb hose running through a hole in the bellows with sealer around it.
The best option is to make a shallow box lensboard with the packard inside with the lens mount on front. An old version of this method is http://www.ebay.com/itm/Packard-Shu...296?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item461e9dcae8 .

Yeah, front mount on the lens is the way to go.
