does anybody know the dimentions of a Fujifilm ace cassette? I need to know this for a project

cheers, Arnoud.

AFAIK the ACE cassettes are closely similar to the Kodak cassettes, with minor variations (the spring being inside the cassette or in the back of the camera.) You could use ACE film in Kodak cameras with a filter. I just gave away all that stuff a few months ago, so I can't measure. But as far a I remember, the cassettes were 107mm wide, 103 mm tall, and thickness varies from 14 mm wide at the bottom to 18 mm wide at the top.

hey all, the ace Fujifilm cassette is a fuji instant film cassette like Instax or polaroid.
but slightly bigger
I was wondering if there was a possibility to fit an ordinary 4x5" film cassette (with some adjustments) in it's place so I could make a portable automatic AF sheedfilm camera... (for negatives... ) but 107 mm wide, is 13mm short for the 120mm widness of the sheedfilm cassette.... what a pity....

thanks for your response XYA, but actually I want to shoot 'easy' on 4x5" color and black and white paper...
I realy like 4x5" and paper is cheap, although the money is not the bottleneck. there are some 6xX portable camera's, but... I don't know .. I like it bigger. 13x18 AF ... I think it is the focusing and the time it takes with LF what 'bothers ' me, and I hoped by converting a fuji ace to 'half Sheed film 4x5" that would be an awesome camera for me... but... it does not fit..

actualy I made a polaroid sx70 that shot on 6.5x9 filmcassettes.. it was fun, and quite a challenge to get it done... but it kind of worked... (I actually converted a gold one .... I had to drill holes in the bottom to get the electricity done... normally the power comes from the cassette itself, but with the use of 'normal' 6.5x9 filmbacks I had to find a solution for that.. poor results, big fun!

ha, I have a land 450 automatic converted to 6x9 that's a nice and small camera for trips,
I also have converted a 120 pathfinder to 4x5" but.. it is not 'solid' enough.. and quite heavy
just having the opportunity to just half press a button and being able to hold the camera steady (for unsteady subjects.. ) I think that's what I want...and I want to build.... (of course...)thanks for your input!

I 'm really searching for AF in a large format, and able to 'stick' a sseedfilm adapter on it..

the results of the 450 are in my opinion stunning! the automatic light measurment on 300 and shoot on 120 400TX

here are some pictures on my flckr

I have converted several 110/120 cameras, first to Polaroid 100, then to 4x5" and lately to Instax Wide. You are right, in the end they are too heavy and not solid enough.

There is no large format AF, not even a 6x9 AFAIK. But I have a Fuji GA 645 (Wi). That's a real automatic AF camera and it's one of my favorites. P&S and 9 out of 10 are perfect.

Yes, a large format like this I would want to have...
