I see Photo Warehouse is selling 100 ft. rolls of outdated Konica 160 Color Pro film for $49.99. A photo of the can indicates develop before January 2009. Has anyone used this film recently? Is it good, i.e., no color shifts?

I haven't used Konica 160 Color Pro from that source, but I used some 35mm rolls from my own freezer stocks last autumn, with a 2008 expiry date. The film was fine, no color shifts or speed loss, but it reminded me that it is really a film for portraiture, wedding work, etc. The contrast is arguably too soft for landscape and general work (IMHO), with the color tending to be rather weak and pastel.....indoor shots with flash were fine, so it's a characteristic of the film, not the fact that it was outdated.

I have used Konica ASA 100 and 400 films. I don't known what they are called. I still have a lot in my freezer. The 100 film is very saturated and contrasty. But the 400 film is softer and easy to shoot. I like both. They are very fine grain films.

You can easily add contrast with Photoshop or similar image editing software if the contrast of your negative is too soft. You can easily boost saturation by reducing middle tone brightness. The result may not match slide images but will be much improved.
