Hi all,
I recently came into a Hasselblad 500 c/m and discovered the auxiliary shutter return spring (the coiled tape measurer looking springs that actuates the rear barn door shutter) was toast. Finding that these are no longer available I am in the process of potentially getting a stock of them made, though it is proving quite difficult.

This go me thinking about whether others have had a hard time finding this particular spring and if there are other springs in a Hassy, or any other vintage camera, that are often broken but do not have readily available replacements.
My questions are:
1. If I am able to get some of the Hasselblad springs made, are there people on here who would benefit from having one (or a few) extras?
2. What are some other commonly broken internal springs with no replacements?

That looks like a wound torsion spring made out of flat spring steel, similar to a watch mainspring. I would consider talking to someone who does repairs on mechanical watches and clocks.

Flat spring steel is available from suppliers like McMaster-Carr and there are repairers who make their own springs and instructions on how to do it, for example http://www.m-p.co.uk/mp-spring-guide.htm (or just google "making mainspring").

A few months ago there was a discussion in the panoramic forum of making / repairing a similar but much much larger mainspring to drive a rotating Cirkut camera, https://www.photrio.com/forum/threads/10-cirkut-with-broken-main-spring.178040/
