Ok so the headline is a bit dramatic, but what would be the last camera you gave up if for one reason or another it all had to go ? I have several nice cameras, but the choice would not be perhaps as rational or obvious as some may think. I think if push came to shove, my Leica M6 and Nikons would go and the humble but efficient OM1n would stay. How about you ?

One of my Granddad's Minolta SRT102's with his favorite Rokkor-PG 55mm 1.7 lens. Sentimental value and they still work as well as when he was still using them.

Would be my Nikon FA for me. Bought it new 30 years ago & quite like it. Ask me again tomorrow & it might be my Nikon F2A though.

Leica M3--first one I bought, still works, will outlast me.

I'm tempted to say the M4, but the M3 is the sentimental favorite.

I would keep my Leica MP, DR and 35 Summicron. I would keep my Super Isolette. I would get rid of the 500C, M2, the Medalist, the Pacemaker, Billy Record, SX70, Autoron, and that Mamiya C330 Alison left at my apartment before she moved to Austin Tx.

This is going to be difficult, although I answered that question years ago when I sold all my collection of screw mount Pentax, Canon EOS, Leica M6 and Voigtlander Bessa cameras and lenses.
Then I bought a Nikkormat FTn and 3 lenses: 28mm, 50mm and 105mm.
I should have left like that.
Now, I have more than 40 cameras again between Nikon and Olympus.
From my 26 or so Nikons, perhaps the best was to keep the Nikkormat FT3: it can use all my lenses and uses only 1 SR44 battery.
From my 15 Olympus, maybe an OM-1N or a -2N. I can't decide between these 2. I love the Aperture priority and the TTL OTF flash system of the -2N, but my head says to keep the mechanical one.
I need a -3Ti! lol

The Kodak Six-16 my Dad gave me when I was eleven.

If I'm allowed to keep that for the sentimental value it has plus one user, I would add my Mamiya C330 that has been serving me well for 40 years. I'd insist on both the 65mm and 135mm lenses though.

In the end, they are just stuff. I like my stuff but could live without most of it, maybe even all of it. My last camera would probably be Nikon F-3 because of its reliability and versatility. The first camera I ever bought and there is no reason why it can't be the last I ever own/use.

Wow, this would be a tough choice, but I'd probably keep my 8x10 Deardorff and my Nikon F2.

Meh.. they're just cameras, but I'd buy more Nikkormats if I lost mine. Wouldn't replace any of the others.

RB67 with 180mm and prism - because they won't be able to lift it out of my hands!

Really, it would probably my Mamiyaflex C2.

It would be a toss up between a Nikon F with plain prism and an M4. Probably the M4 when push came to shove

My wife asked this question just in a different way, in case of a fire and I could only grab one camera what would it be? Well it wouldn't be a camera, but my bag with the Minolta 9 and 7 with 4 lens.

My father once worked for Detrola. He brought home a radio, which I have. I think he did mention cameras.

The one camera I'd save from a fire? Thinking... has to be something with emotional value... Ok: my Kodak 8mm movie camera from 1964 - the very first camera I saved money for and bought as a kid.

So I was going to say that also... but I picked up mine last night and found out that I forgot and left the power switch on the MD-11 in the "on" position. (For those not in the know... there is a design defect causes the MD to drain all batteries if it is left in the "on" position. If only I wasn't so cheap I'd replace it with a MD-12 since the defect was fixed.) I HATE that MD so I opted to have F-3/MD-4 as the camera I take to the grave.

My first rangefinder, a Yashica Minister III and my first 35mm SLR, a pentacon Practika L. I got the Minister III used in the early 70's from Black's Camera store at St. Clair and Yonge here in Toronto and the Practika L was a birthday present from my brother in 1973. Both have been overhauled numerous times since then and I have acquired two Practika L cameras as parts supply cameras. Both have served me well beyond expectations and even though I have acquired better cameras since then, I always take them out a couple of times each year and run a couple of rolls through each just to keep them working.

Those would be the two cameras that I would get rid of last.
