Orwo P400

I might have wasted some money on a 100' of the new Orwo P400 V3. It took several months to get it and I just put it in my film roller and discovered it is NOT perforated on the edges. Did I just waste a bit of $$ on film that I can never use or is there a way I can still use it on a certain camera? Contacted Orwo about this but as there was nothing mentioned in the advertisement or maybe it was just a mistake on my part as I have made a few over the years. I just read the can photo that I included, and the fine print says UNPERFERATED so that's a real disappointment for me.

There are several cameras that can work with unperforated film so don't be too dispirited! Here are two:

Canon EOS 10s
Minolta Maxxum htsi

and at least some other Minolta Maxxums and the Voightlander Vito 1 if you like older cameras.

What are the particular characteristics of this film that influenced you to buy it? I am not familiar with it.

Good coverage on Pyro developers and photos of the results. Some boring basics at first but more solution recipes and applications throughout.

If you have adapters that allow use of 35mm in 120 roll film cameras, it would be perfect for that.

His videos on youtube are very soothing somehow. Do those formulas differ from the ones on his website?

If that is the same or similar to the Canon XS, it should work.

The Canon Rebel G is actually not a bad camera, you just need to keep your expectations grounded in reality. Mine made very nice shots by simply using the kit zoom lens.

I know what you mean about making mistakes. Made one back in '67 :>)

Any camera having rolls instead of toothed gears should work. You may need to tape a perforated leader or punch a single hole close to the lower edge of the film, so the take-up spool can hook it.

Yeah, found that out the hard way - definitely tape a bit of leader from a perforated roll.

Thanks. I checked my Elan 7e and no toothed gears on it as well. I checked a piece on my Patterson reels, and it seemed to start but a full roll may be different. Things are looking a bit different today thanks to the advice I got here. Since it is a new film there is very little on developing mixtures and times, but it should keep me busy.

You can email Filmotec and they will sell you film. Their email address is on this page, where you can also find the info on P400. Orwo is the brand name of Filmotec if you didn’t know.

Well it certainly doesn't work properly in the Elan 7. 2 rolls ruined there I guess the electronics don't know really what's happening to it. Back looking for a EOS 10 OR THE 10s is also suppose to work

Most of the EOS canons have an infrared diode and detector, which count the perforations. it is generally located at the top of the camera near the take up side.
