ORWO NA has just announced a 15% off discount until January 25th.

In an email to me about when 100 foot loads would be available again, they said they would be available next week.

The ORWO UN54 is a 100 ISO film that is similar to APX100 or FP4+. It is medium grain, as are those two films. At a normal price, 100 feet is $47.83. At a 15% discount, that becomes $40.66.

That is a very good deal by any standard. I have been shooting some of this lately and it looks great in Xtol 1:1 @ 20 degrees C @ 7 minutes.

The coupon code on checkout is "OROW Daylight".

I just buy the 400' as when I want to buy film, I want it now.....

The N74+ is my general choice with stand dev in thornton. You just can't beet it, for the price.

The UN54 is quite nice under thornton too, but I like it with reversals.

Are Orwo films available in 120?

No. Those type 120 films had either been films made by original ORWO (that is Agfa Wolfen) or had been ORWO rebanded films (Orwopan) in the times of the demise of ORWO.

Filmotec who took over the ORWO brand for their own production never made type 120 films.

By my math, two 100 foot rolls from ORWO NA at the promotional price are about 80 dollars or about 60 Euro...

Website, which I neglected to cite in the original post is:

http://www.orwona.com

I have no connection other than as a satisfied user.

I just overlooked and did not realize the price in dollars. 80 dollars is indeed very good price.

My personal development: 3 mins in BTTB.

FYI, this sale was for existing stock only. I wrote them about it and asked when they'd have more in relation to the sale price and that's when they told me it was for existing stock. :/

On a more current and related note, they just sent me an email that they had UN74 in stock again at the normal price. It's still a good price in comparison to the competition for 100' rolls.

If you've been waiting for stock of UN74 in 100', grab it while they have it.

I also got this from this a few minutes ago as well:

1. Buy the UN54 & N74plus 100ft cans before we run out.
2. We will have some special, limited edition films available next week...

ORWO PF2, 35mm B&W Print Film
ORWO DN21, 35mm B&W Duplicate Negative Film
ORWO DP31, 35mm Duplicate Positive Film

So, if you shoot... this is something you will want to clean your scope for.

questions info@orwona.com

I have no idea if this means they will have PF2, DN21 and DP31 in smaller sized spools for sale, I'm assuming it just means they'll have the current spools back in stock. They are priced (and sized) well outside of most average photographer's range at 2000' for both the duplicating films ($450 and $840 USD) and the PF2 is also 2000' for $355 USD.

UN54 is a great film, especially in PMK Pyro. N74 has a really grindy look to it but also nice.

n74 is probably closer to what tri-x was in the late 70's. If you choose your developer correct, it will treat you well. It's my everyday film.

does Orwo make large film , for example 20inch by 100ft??

Just Cine film, but the north American distributor is very friendly to it being used for stills.

As others have said, it is made by filmotec.de, who have licensed the ORWO name, and are located in Wolfen.
