What developer is 1183 as mentioned in filmotec webpage to develop UN54?

I had it downloaded. Attached

oh!! That's so amazing! Thanks!
I am reading the formula. That's interesting. Almost a Kodak D96 but on phenidone instead of metol. That made me curious and I will definitely mix it. Have you tried it?

Alain,

If you or someone could translate the German into English, I would be most appreciative. This is my best guess:

Water 750 mL
trisodium phosphate 2.00 g
sodium sulfite 100 g
hydroquinone 2.50 g
phenidone 0.30 g
sodium tetraborate decahydrate 2.00 g
potassium bromide 0.39 g

fill with water to 1 liter

I am not really sure about the second one (the trisodium phosphate).

Does it say anything about dilutions or times?

Dave

Actually, you can rewrite as it follows:

Water 750 mL

trisodium phosphate 2.00 g - not needed for distilled/demineralized water
sodium sulfite 100 g
hydroquinone 2.50 g
phenidone 0.30 g
borax 2.00 g - "sodium tetraborate decahydrate" it's the chemical name of borax
potassium bromide 0.39 g

Water up to 1000ml.

Does it say anything about dilutions or times? - No, it gives 3 to 5 minutes at 21 Celsius. I would go with 5:30 minutes at 20 Celsius.

I have not used it. Just looked into it.

But you maybe shouldn’t leave out the trisodium phosphate without adjusting the pH. It’s a very strong alkali and without it you may have a slightly low pH. Although with all that sulfite in there, that’s likely to dominate.

I came across the ORWO 1182 and 1183 docs. In the german version the Pentanatriumtriphosphat chemical is translated in the english version as Sodium Tripolyphosphate - STPP which is used in detergents to sequester metal ions (calcium and magnesion) which lead to water hardness so acting as a water softener.
