Has anyone tried developing ortho litho film using Diafine? The idea would be to try to tame contrast and increase speed so the film would be useful for continuous tone pictorial photography.

Related to this, what about using a diluted fomr of Diafine in order to reduce development?

I could be wrong, but I don't believe Diafine can be diluted and still work well. It's not in the nature of the two part process, where A adds chems to the emulsion and B develops them. I have used it colder than suggested (65 degree F) and gotten reduced development, but I did it by mistake and haven't tested to see if it is repeatable. I may have also screwed something else up...very unscientific.

As for using it with ortho, I have only had it give me high contrast negs. I use dilute Dektol, but the best results I have sen recently came from HC110 at 1/150. I don't know the timing.
