Was thumbing through an antique book of photography. It made reference to "ORTAL". Wondering if anyone knows about this reducing agent? All I could find is it's in the o-aminophenol family.

Are you sure of the spelling? The developing agent Ortol is the addition compound of o-aminophenol and hydroquinone. As soon as it is dissolved in water it dissociates into these two developing agents.
