Organ harvesting - OM-PC

I'm pulling the prism from a non-working OM-PC to use for replacement in an OM-1n. Other than miscellaneous screws and battery cover, any other parts worth keeping?

For example, is the focus screen or the tripod socket used in other OM bodies?

General rule

As a general rule, I would not throw any old camera parts away. They are sure to be pre gold to some poor analogist wanting to put HIS camera back together.

Rewind knob is easily removed, the focusing screen can be removed after removing foam and unscrewing I think 2 screws from the metal holder. It does fit in an om4 body but does not have a tab to grasp. The bayonet mount on the body might be swappable to the om but I'm not sure.

If I wasn't running out of room to store the stuff that works, I might just keep it. But I do need to remove the prism (actually, just did). Besides, very unlikely that someone would put the time/effort/expense to fix an OM-PC. That said, I'll keep the rewind knob and wind lever as those would be very easy fixes for anyone to do.

The bayonet mount went to someone a while ago

I would save any and all small screws and springs. If it was a leaf shutter, I would save that as well. Many of those small parts can be ground into new parts for other repairs. I once fixed the aperture actuating pin on a Koni-Omega 90mm lens using parts from a Petri CC Super shutter.

ya I would save the springs and screws, as those can easily be lost when doing repairs. The battery cover. Focussing screen. rewind knob. wind lever. Not sure on the OMPC if the back can be used on other cameras.

I did harvest the springs and screws and, of course, the prism. And the rewind crank and wind lever. The lens mount was already gone.

You will want to keep that focusing screen. Treat it carefully. The
OM-PC focusing screen has properties very similar to the "2" series OM screens.
