found a supply (from italy) that sells packaged powder for mixing 20l of working solution (1:1:100) for 10euro.
would like to try it like this (before ordering raw chemicals in bigger quantities).

but i remember to have read somewhere that one compound (sodium bisulfite?) can turn "bad" or exhaust.
cannot judge if the seller's stock is "fresh".

what is your opinion, is it a good idea to trust the ebay offer?

and one more question..
mixing it 1:1:100 is it safe to use 500ml for developing 120 roll film? will there be enough activity?

What is this fixation with not saying "ebay"? Other than not linking within the classifieds, I don't think it's a "four letter word". I don't mean to pick on your thread; you're not the only one who does this, just the latest.

If you are mixing from powder, then use glycol instead of water, it will have much longer shelf life once mixed. Powder mixed with distilled water generally lasts about one year once mixed. Of course, parts A and B must remain separate until just before using to develop film.

If it is from a reputable source, there should not be a problem. I wound up using Hypercat instead because it's a simpler formulation with effectively identical results. Either way, I've had good success.

You will not have any issues with MF, as long as you use enough chemical to cover your film.

You can say "eBay" on APUG. Our only prohibition is against linking to your own eBay ads, and there is even an exception to that (if you list an item in the classifieds and it doesn't sell after a reasonable interval--usually a week or more--and you decide to list it on eBay, you can include the auction link in the comments to the original classifieds listing).

Yes 500ml per 120 film is fine, I mix 1+1 to 100 but add part A to some of the water then add part B and make up to the final volume.

You should be alright Pyrocat HD will last for a few months, it's just that very fresh Metabisulphite can mean it keeps over 4 years without using Glycol or similar. It's worth trying I don't use anything else now. You picked up on my comments about how much better Pyrocat HD keeps with fresh Metabisulpite.
