I have a 24in Red Dot Artar which I'd like to get put into a Copal 3 (I know that you loose about 1/3 of a stop from max aperture, but that really doesn't concern me). Apart from the obvious SK Grimes (who have done work for me before) is there anyone else out there who does this sort of thing?

I think a member usign the "flutot" handle does this as well. There is a guy currently auctioning mounting on e bay, but I forgot the name, you might want to do a search there.

Please report back on how good a job he does.

And let us know what he charged. His posted prices for front-mounting are in line with what SKGrimes charged me, most recently last month. Don't know about his standard prices for putting a lens in shutter, the last time I had that done Steve was still alive.

The guy's eBay listings have always made me wonder about him. Too loud, and at times his claims for lenses' coverage seem very optimistic.

Thanks for the replies - I have sent some emails out and will see what responses I get. I suppose I'd like to try a couple of other people because, while I have used SK Grimes many times in the past, I'm really not sure why they charge $75-80 for a CLA which seems to cost under $50 from almost everyone else. It's great that we have access to a dedicated photographic machinist, but charging 50%+ more for a really basic job seems a little over the top.
