Wondering if anyone owns, uses, or has used White Lightning softboxes.

I'm looking to buy a new softbox and the large size White Lighting, with included speed ring, is under $120. A comparable Photoflex will be around the same price but the speed ring is an additional $70. So it's nearly a $100 difference.

I've used Photoflex for a long time and found it to be fine if taken care of. I have no experience with White Lighting softboxes.

I have used WHite Lightnings since the very early days of their existence. I have softboxes among other light attenuators and find them easy to use and with very even light distribution.

I've never used their softboxes. With my own White Lightning 1800 Ultra, I just use white nylon shoot-through umbrellas (as many as I need).

Yes, I own White Lightning monolights and have been using their stuff for nearly 15 years. Yes, I shoot through umbrellas; very convenient but a bit different than a softbox.

Thanks for the answers. If I order one up and there's a problem, I know who to come after!!

I have also used WL Soft box's with absolutely no problems. I do not believe that they are constructed as well as an old Larson, Photoflex etc. however that is only my opinion. For the cost difference who cares if the box only lasts 20 years, rather than 21? From my point of view, White Lightning delivers an excellent product.
