Re-introducing Photography to Philadelphia
This weekend, Project Basho is hosting open studio tours at their new studio as a part of POST. The open studio hours are 12 noon to 6 pm on both days.
Project Basho has been working on this 4000 sq. ft. building for last two years in order to better serve photographic enthusiasts in the area. The new studio is approximately 800 sq. ft. and accommodates two darkrooms with one work space with a 13ft ceiling. Each darkroom is equipped with 5 enlargers, and a film dryer, archival washer, and a drymount press are conveniently located in the workspace.
Project Basho offers a variety of photography experiences from darkroom rental and informal critiques to introductory classes and advanced workshops like wet-plate and platinum/palladium printing. Project Basho is a unique learning experience for a wide range of audiences from teenagers to advanced amateurs and beyond.
We hope you'll come to our opening this weekend, see our new studio, and find out more about the classes and workshops we will be offering. The new studio is located one block north of 3rd Street and Girard Ave. where a lot of exciting cultural developments are happening. For directions and more information, please visit our website or contact Project Basho directly.
