Oh dear, I suddenly realised that I used undiluted hypo clearing agent for my fb prints yesterday. So after the usual developer, stop bath, fixing bath and rinse I treated them for three minutes in a stock solution of HCA instead of a working solution.
I did wash them for half an hour after that, but i'm a bit concerned. Is this a disaster?
Could somebody please give me advice what to do now with these fb prints? More washing? I do want to selenium tone them.

Just give a bit of extra washing, as everything in the HCA is very soluble it's unlikely you've done any damage. Then selenium tone and final wash.

Thanks Ian.

I did the extra washing. After that I toned my prints and washed them again. They look fine.

Could I reuse the stock solution?

.........Could I reuse the stock solution?

It is often reported that the sulphite in it (the main and active ingredient) oxidizes to sulphAte which doesn't work as a washing aid. Probably faster in working solution than stock solution. I'm sorry I have no idea how fast that process is.

My approach, like most users at APUG, is to buy sodium sulphite and sodium metabisulphite and mix it for single use. It dissolves rapidly and is cheap. Exact measurement is not important, so spoon measurement is fine.
