Does anyone use, or know of, an online printing service (in the UK) that prints onto clear acetate (or similar) for use as negatives in processes such as cyanotype, Van Dyke brown, salt prints, etc?
I've used my Epson 2400 in the past to print onto digital contact film, but now it's decided to have a little rest (the sponges are saturated and all that happens when I turn it on is two blinking red lights appear on the front), and I don't have the time or inclination to sort it out at the moment. And bearing in mind the cost of digital contact film and the number of sheets I waste (smudging the ink before it's dry, printing on the wrong side, getting inexplicable banding despite ensuring the heads are aligned and the correct media settings are used and the film is fed in correctly and all the other little gremlins that conspire to waste paper...), it will be cheaper and easier to out-source printing of negatives to someone who knows what they are doing.
In fact, are there any individuals out there who have Piezography digital negative inksets fitted to their printers who would be willing to print suitable negatives for a fair price? I for one would be willing to pay someone else to handle this aspect of my alt. printing workflow to allow me to get on with the messy business of smelly chemicals and soggy paper.
Cheers,
