These days, the same comment might apply to me, too!

But you're right, luggage is at even a premium, even with (well, chunky) Micatech bags. At this point I'm planning on bringing the xpan, which is sort of medium format, right? That way I can leave my meter at home.

I don't think it falls under the description of medium format since it does use 135 film as opposed to 120 or 220 film.

I would say take the Mamiya 6 and the 50 mm.

The difference is that a camera's going to be just as chunky at the end of the trip as when it started, while its wielder could change!

I personally don't think the Xpan really counts as medium format, but then nothing is forcing you tote a rollfilm rig. You're going on a motorbike trip, so obviously photography is a secondary point.

Hi from Duluth

Hi, folks - we're having a good time on our motorbike trip, and I must say a public thanks to Rick (Ricksplace here on APUG) and his partner Barb for extending such great hospitality to us on our way through Thunder Bay. We had a great stay at Rick and Barb's "Rancho Relaxo", their lakeside retreat. To borrow from Honda, you meet the nicest people on APUG!

Graham

P.S. - Bike-riders: CR-129 between Thessalon and Chapleau is a super motorbiking road - good pavement, twisties, very scenic, and moose-free (this time!).
