This was my first visit to Fort Barry which is very close the the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. This was taken at Mendell battery and I think I'll title it "Battery" I was thinking of straightening the left wall and think I may have, and undid the adjustment. because I thought it didn't look right. Let me know what you like or dislike about it.
Thanks,
Steve

Shot RAW or JPG? or on film?
My first impression is the desire to see a tiny bit more detail in the shadowss. RAW makes that adjustment easy.

Slight downward angle on the camera resulted in vertical convergence apparent. I think convergence downward is a bit more disconcerting than upward convergence, which we are accustomed to seeing in daily life. So I would vote for fixing the convergence.

Yes captured RAW. I agree about the shadow detail on white background. It's much better when viewed on a black or very dark gray. I will adjust the shadow detail according to output. I didn't even thin k about it on the forums white background. I'll play with the convergence a few different ways. I don't remember why I chose the look down perspective. Could have been the opening I was shooting through was to high or I liked the debris on the floor. Never the less I'll take another crack at it. Thanks for the feedback, it's much appreciated and I see your a fellow Bay Area member!

I can see the appeal of including that floor detail in the shot!
Depending upon what is visible thru the rusted openings in the door, I would also be tempted to try to reduce Highlight intensity to see if some ground/background becomes visible, rathan lost highlights.

Ha ha yeah I like debris. The highlights are actually far from clipping. The highest luminance reading of the brightest area of the left door is 211. Raw import was 240, so it wasn't clipping before my processing. If it looks clipped to you check your devices calibration or brightness setting. I was actually concerned that I knocked it back to much and crippled some of the pop.

It does not really look 'clipped'...you can clearly discern 'green' but the lower areas are a very bright. Hints of both brown dirt and grass are discernable (now visible on desktop monitor, wasn't so apparent on my laptop earlier), so I thought there might be some improvement to content by seeing what happens when you drop brightness in those areas.

Ah, on my calibrated Eizo monitor, it looks to be a light shade of the color of the ground seen at the base of the door. It was captured at F2 so there is no detail whatsoever, but it doesn't look bright white on my PC. Just looked at my FB post of it it on my iPad with the brightness cranked all the way up, and it does look much brighter and closer to white. I generally tend to process with less than more contrast but it actually looks pretty good on the ipad with that extra brightness! Maybe I'll try dropping the brightness in that area as you suggested, but brush in more brightness in certain areas of the inside.
