I am not an physcist and discovered maxwell after all long years.

My first and all 9 cameras were Leicas and I dont know any other lens-

I suspect sniff my leitz lenses have a polarizer effect , deeper the colors , deeper blacks , no light play on textiles , stronger fluorescent colors , makes me think

- lens have polarizer effect
- may be lens have a colored glass and it effects like brown tint eyeglasses
- may be some glasses selected to cut some colors and make remain other stronger colors

I read electric field polarizes the dielectrics. Can Leica use that effect to make its glasses sometimes works like an polarizer ?

Or lets say phases inside the glass been engineered to cancel unnecessary light play ?

I see no chance of the lenses having a polarizing effect.
But if you like to speculate on your lenses, you rather should think at multi bandpass effects. Like at rare earth filters..

If we cut flat square glasses at same thickness and with same glass of summicron and if we stack these glasses together , what do we observe when looking through a painting ?
