I have seen several of David's Hurn's exhibitions. He was/is a Magnum photograher and used to lecture at Newport (Monmouthshire, South Wales), in documentary photography I think.
I saw his "Millenium" exhibition at Cardiff Museum back in about 2002. These were original framed silver gelatin prints about Welsh life and culture at the turn of the millenium. Good, encapsulated the subject and good prints. The recent exhibition was held at the Bay in Cardiff a few months ago, personally introduced by the photographer and was a kind of retrospective look at his life's work. Worth a look but prints this time were digital copies of original siver gelatin/ colour prints in most cases, unframed and held to the wall with tacks. I was not fussy on the presentation and the copies in my opinion lacked the appeal and finish of the originals.
I have several of his books, they are held in the local library, but I do not remember the one you refer to here.
Hope you get what you want at the right price.
Regards,
John
