Omega Enlarger Question

Is there any difference between a D5 and a D5XL other than the column? In other words, could I turn my D5 into and XL by replacing its column with the taller one?

Nothing I'm aware of. I have a D5 and have worked with a D5XL and I saw no difference other than height.
