I recently acquired an Omega D6 with turret and several neg holders for a very reasonable price.
It came with a working Aristo coldlight which I'm anxious to try.
But since Aristo is gone and I know the light will eventually fail I've been trying to piece together a condenser setup as a fallback. I've also got years worth of negs that are probably better printed with a condenser.
So far I've gotten a lamphouse and the spacer for the fixed condensers.
Right now there is a movable condenser from a D2 on the auction site.
Can anyone tell me if this will work with my D6?
Tanks for any help,
Also, check Midwest Photo Exchange mpex.com They may not have anything listed, but email them. The last time I was there, I got a look at the basement & there were quite a few Omega d-series condensors there.
I'm pretty sure the D2/D3 series condensers will fit (famous last words, caveat emptor, advice worth price charged and all that). If you are only going to be printing in one size (or maybe two) you can use the fixed condenser lenses, which should be dirt cheap. The fixed lenses come in their own aluminum drum-thingy that attaches to the black lamphousing with the three thumb-screws.
