In addition to my conversions for Durst 138S / G139 and Beseler 45 MX and the 45 V-XL, i have had requests for a 8x10 conversion for Omega 2D..
finally i managed to get hold of a D2 enlarger and found a way to convert that too.
i would like to know if there is interest for the kit, and i will make a few for sale.
the 8x10 kit is at the same weight as the original dichro head, but is app 6" higher .
it is made for a Gerogon or G-Claron 240 mm and with this lens it makes
prints 20x24" down to 12 x16".
if you use a 2,5 " extension tube on the same lens, you
print 20x24" and down to 8x10"
i am in contact with a guy in USA who 3D prints stuff for darkroom use.
he possibly makes a cone that fits directly on Omega D2. i do not have a price yet, but he is very reasonable.
to convert your D2 you need to drill out the spot weldings in the fitting between the head and the column part..
mount the two distance plates to bring the head further out from the column.
cut the corners square in the alu plate , ( adjuster plate), above the bellows assembly
the rest is straight forward.

i did try it with a G-Claron 210 mm. it works ok, but i did not make prints with it, i know that others are happy with this lens.
210mm lens prints 24x32" and down to 12x14"
additional lens tube might work on 210mm too.
if you at any point decide to go back to original D2, simply remove the 8x10 head , its only 3 screws, and assemble the original. no damage at all on your D2.
the price will be a app 560,00 euro plus shipping and includes all parts you need for the conversion , film holder book type too.
but no lens incl..
please let me know if you or others have interest in the 8x10 kit.
kindly
