Omega D-II Dimension Ques

I have acquired an Omega D-II enlarger and am going to install it in my basement. When I acquired it the baseboard with the round base mount can was missing.

Can someone please tell me the maximim overall height with the head at it's highest, and the length and width of the OEM baseboard.

The baseboard on mine is about 18 inches wide x 26 inches deep. The base mount is about 6 inches high without baseboard. I have a base for sale with knob, if you are interested.

With head at absolute highest, baseboard to top of the lamp housing where cord exists is 55 inches. Baseboard with feet is 1" from table. So overall height is 56 inches.

The other poster has given you the baseboard size. My unsolicited advise to you is to make your own baseboard. OEM one is a bit too small.

The stock base board is small, I mounted my D-II on a table made just for it and another enlarger using the base mount, works great and do not have E.S.O.E.BB. syndrome (easel slips off end of base board).

If you have never used an enlarger before I'd hold off on prints larger than 16x20" unless you have unlimited $$$. I don't even think the D-II can make a print larger than 16x20 on the baseboard anyway.

The small baseboard was an attraction when I first got mine, because it let me use it in a small space. It's okay for an easel to hang over the sides of the baseboard for occasional larger prints.

Dear aurum earring,

If it is going to be a PITA to make things larger at a later date, make sure you have enough room for a 36"x36" base. That is what I ended up with and it is quite convenient.

Jons mount is a necessity to mount the thing.

Mike c's suggestion of a table mount is a good solution, I think the original board was too small.

You can bolt the enlarger to a wall and make real large prints.
