Omega Chromegatrol questions

Hi!

I´m considering using the Omega Chromegatrol together with a single light bulb for contact printing. Is there any problem with that? What is the Voltage of the output? It has an maximum of 250W output to enlarger. It has a six pin connection, so somehow I need to get this connector as spare and find the two right pins for the output.

I think you´re right concerning the 24V. I was considering it because it has a good voltage stabilizer as well

I can think of a hundred better ways to time a 120v light bulb. Have you had trouble with dust showing up on the contact printing glass when using the enlarger as a light source?
 
I print on Lodima. I have been told a stabilizer is good to ensure consistent results during printing. I dont have a problem using another timer, a gralab together with a metronome could be nice. I have been told Sola CVS stabilizers are good, but they are also big and noisy. I maybe thought an enlarger stabilizer would be a good option.

Probably depends on where you live and if you notice your lights dimming a lot. The Chromegatrol uses a ferroresonant transformer and that is an inexpensive way to stabilize the voltage. You should be able to get an inexpensive, low wattage, voltage stabilizer for your 120v bulb. How many watts is it?

I was wondering if you had the enlarger that went with the Cromegatrol. In which case you can just use the enlarger's light for your contact prints
 
I use a 300W bulb for contact printing and just found a Beseler stabilizer that will do the work, 120v 400w. Thanks for all input and help!

I did not realize the Lodima was that slow.
 
What you want is a metronome. Music store, $20. Oh, and a clipboard "shutter."
