Does anyone know where I can get an Omega Chromega B Dichroic power supply for my color enlarger? Also, is there a way to make one from scratch and if so, does anyone know how? It's apparently an 27 volt 75 wattes AC power supply.

They come up on ebay once in a while. Thing is, those enlargers tend to sell cheap, you might get the whole thing for not much. Then you'd have all kinds of spare parts.
 
In my basement is a power supply which I picked up in the thrift shop. It is for an Omega enlarger, but I don't know which one. I can look it over this weekend & send you any numbers on it if you would be interested.

You can have it for the cost of postage, or I'll pay the postage if you send me a print...
 
Oops - I forgot. That power supply ain't around anymore, someone else got it (not to run an enlarger, but at least it found a use).

24 v tx options

27 V is not too far off of 24 V. 24V ac is a very common industrial control voltage for pulling in relay coils, etc. Look in an electronics/surplus shop that sells 24V international multitap control tranformer. They have the primary wound for 110,117,125, 220, 240, and 277 volts typically. If you live in a 117/120V area, then hook it up using the 110V terminal. The secondary voltage should be very close to 27V. The change from the 27V supply to a few volts low will likely mean that all of your past filter settings will be off, but if the bulb burns a few volts below its rating it should last longer as a trade off.

True enough. Halogen bulbs (which I believe is what you are running) need to run hot and will tend to darken (get black deposits inside) if run at too low a voltage. A little low will probably not make a difference.

If you're still looking let me know, I may have one somewhere, but I'm not sure if it is the exact one you are looking for. So if you are still looking for one, let me know and I'll dig it out and see if its' the right one.

Chromega B 27V supply

I have one. If you still want one, say so and I'll blow the dust off and check it out with a DMM to make sure it works. I don't want it, as I don't have the device it powers.
