Well, since it was given to you, you are already ahead of the game. It will make good prints if you equip it with a decent lens, up to about 8x10 on 35mm. You can go larger, though. The support is a little underbuilt, but if you are careful about vibrations on your work surface it's ok. If I remember correctly it will take up to 6x7 negs. I think these are still in production, and there are lots of accessories available. It takes a standard bulb, and neg carriers are easy to get. I have one of it's predecessors, a B600 that's nearly 30 years old, and I still use it now and then. Use it!
