Selling two of my omega turrets.

One is the older thick version, the other is the newer version that's thinner ( cat no. 404-867) Both come with the lensboards as seen, and all the thumbscrews! Please see the photos.

I also have one more thin version, feel free to inquire.

Thick version $30
Thin version $50

Paypal or money order preferred. Shipping is extra, thanks!

Do I still need plates for those lensboards? I'm a bit confused with turrets?

Yes, you still need plates/cones.

The silver coloured plates shown on the turrets look to me to be home-made versions of same (due to the fact that they are not black) and of course they may or may not be the ones that you need with your lenses.

Thee newer thin version works with some shorter lenses that are incompatible with the older thick version.

Actually...no, you don't need plates for the lensboards!

The lenses attach to the shown lensboards, which attach directly to the turret with the included thumbscrews.

Now, it's true that the lensboards are specific to the lens...thus I've tried to put a variety of sizes on each one, including 39mm which is a very common lens size.

Also, these are not homemade boards...they're silver ones that were made by Omega! The only difference is that they're silver. As all of us know here, Omega made items for a long period of time, and frequently tweaked the designs a bit....these were probably only made for a few years.

I bow to bjsmith's knowledge about the silver thingies that are shown mounted to his for-sale turrets - all of the thingies of this sort I've seen are black, but it does not surprise me at all that there are versions out there that I was unaware of.

But as for the reference to lens boards and lens plates, I'm afraid that I'm going to differ, because I think those silver thingies are lens plates, not lens boards.

Confusion about semantics I think.

Here's a link to my favourite D5/D6 resource about this:

http://www.khbphotografix.com/omega/LensMountD5.htm

And Katie, I don't think the turrets work with a D2

EDIT: Oh and by the way, bjsmith is great to deal with.

I believe the D-2 needs cones of different lengths to accomodate different focal lengths and lens distance from the negative. The D-5/6 have a bellows that adjusts instead, thus allowing for a turret to mount different length lenses together.

If you haven't sold the thick version on the evil auction site, I'll go for it.

Thanks.
