Which version of the OM-1?
Accessory Shoe 1 will work with the plain OM-1 and the OM-1 MD (plus the rare M-1). It will not work with the OM-1n.
With the plain OM-1 and the OM-1 MD, you can't use Accessory Shoes 2, 3 or 4.
Accessory Shoe 4 will work with the OM-1n.
Thanks to both Bill and Matt for the extra information. I am completely new to Olympus and didn't have this information. I believe I have the original OM-1 as that is how it is marked on the top of the camera.
In that case, you need Shoe 1, which confusingly seems to only be labeled with the "Fix >" labelling.
The real question is, do you want one with or without the fairly commonly encountered crack in the lower structure.
A Shoe 1 could be nearly 50 years old now.
Yeah, that is a point well taken. Just to be sure, is there any external way of telling if you have an "n" or not? It is marked MD on the front so motor drive (and I could use that cover as well).
Nope
The original was the M-1 - which Leica made them withdraw from the market.
The next was the OM-1 without the MD - that was my first OM camera, and I bought it new, as a teenager!
You have the OM-1 MD, which was the next version, and was very successful.
All of the first three use the same hot shoe 1 though.
I wish you the best in your search.
