Hello!
I ordered an Olympus XA from Ebay and it works fine until picture 25 or 26. Then the shutter just stops working and is stuck/ won’t wind. I tried everything (new batteries, seeing if the lens is completely open) but nothing helps. I don’t want to lose 10 pictures per every roll, does anyone have a similar problem and found a solution for it? Thanks so much in advance!

The XA's shutter is electronic. So ...

The first suspect is the battery and battery contacts. Even if you have just put in a 'new' battery try a 'newer' battery from a different brand.

The second suspect are the interconnects: switches, solder joints, corroded wires, connectors. Unfortunately these are harder to get to.

As the camera poops out after ~1/2 a roll I would suspect a weak battery.

Hey Nicholas!

Thanks for your reply. Maybe I’ll have to try a different battery then. Let’s hope this works and it’s not an interconnects issue.

It seems odd that it's happening this way on multiple rolls. I wonder if it's not winding enough to trip a sensor that the next frame has advanced? Is this factory wound film?

Hey! I mostly used Kodak film rolls.

I think you should rewind the film. Perhaps you have a 24 exp roll? Although film is expensive I don't really want to troubleshoot the camera with film inside. You may end up ruin the 26 frames you already made.
